What Does “Technically Dried” Mean for Some CHIPSI Products?
“Technically dried” means that moisture is removed from the processed material in a controlled manner in a drying facility. This helps ensure the bedding’s storage stability and flowability. Nevertheless, you should always store the product in a dry place and keep it tightly sealed.
What does “PEFC-certified” mean when it comes to wood shavings?
PEFC is a certification system for forest management and controlled supply chains. A corresponding label on a product indicates that the applicable requirements have been met to the extent specified. You can determine which certification applies to a CHIPSI variety—and whether any certification applies at all—by checking the information provided for each product.
How are CHIPSI products packaged?
For production-related reasons, most CHIPSI products are packaged in plastic wrap. A small portion of our product line is available in paper bags.
For nearly all products packaged in plastic film, we now use polyethylene (PE) film containing 30% recycled material. Recycled material is plastic that has been recycled. A few products have not yet been converted; we are continuing to work on this transition.
